Pumpkin- all varieties, squash, zucchini

Pumpkin- Most dogs love a bit of steamed and mashed pumpkin. It contains Vitamins A, the B’s, C, E and K.  Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Calcium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.  Pumpkin seems to help dogs with digestive upsets. It can help settle both diarrhoea and constipation.  Obviously check with your trusted veterinarian if symptoms persist or are severe. If grinding pumpkin in to tiny pieces, for better bio availability, we include the seeds as they are great for clearing out intestinal parasites.

Sweet potato is also high on our list of go to veggies. When steamed, mash or baked if is easy on the digestive system, dogs love the sweet flavour and packed full of vitamins.

We DO NOT USE WHITE POTATOES as they are too starchy for dogs. That said a left over steamed or bolied spud from your dinner is a tasty occasional treat for your pooch.

Squash and zucchini contain folate, potassium and Vitamin A and are a colourful addition.

Yellow and orange pigments in food contain antioxidants that can help keep the immune system, heart and eyes healthy and lower risk of certain cancers.
