There is a beautiful, wide range of vegetables that dogs can eat that add vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre to balance their protein based diet. At GPFK we aim for about 25%-35% of the total diet being vegetables. For overweight dogs this can be increased to about 40% in the short term to help with weight loss. And some dogs with certain health issues may need lower amounts of carbohydrate.

Variety is key to obtaining the widest range of nutrients from vegetables so at GPFK we make sure we mix it up. We also focus on using what’s in season and at its peak, just as nature intended.

A good way of remembering to get a healthy mix of vegies is using 50% vegies that grow above ground and 50% of vegies that grow below ground in each meal.
